Astrology and temperament

In psychology, as you surely know, the four basic temperaments are defined: choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and melancholic. A regular psychologist, if they’re not familiar with an individual, is usually reliant on various personality tests. While an astrologer is able to determine a person's psychophysical features just by looking into their personal horoscope. The only necessary information is: the exact time and place of birth of the individual.

Astrology and temperament

The key to the individual psychophysical analysis is the position of their ascending zodiac sign (rising sign - in the moment of birth). It is also possible to clearly determine that each of the four temperaments corresponds to a specific element (therefore to a triplicity of zodiac signs that represent each of the elements).

Choleric temperament corresponds to the element of fire which is represented by these signs: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. This temperament is characterized by impulsive behavior and excessive reactions. The advantage is that this individual is resistant to external influences, although, the disadvantage is that the resistance is only short-term. Therefore, such a person is usually hot-tempered.

Sanguine temperament is represented by the element of air and its zodiac signs are: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Generally, the responses of these individuals are often quick, but weak and short-term. The big advantage of such a temperament are highly developed communication skills. However, the disadvantage is lability.

Phlegmatic temperament corresponds with the element of water, whose zodiac signs are: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. These individuals need a strong stimulus to respond. The reaction comes slowly, but is very strong and lasts for long. The benefits of this temperament are mindfulness, empathy and artistic talent. On the other hand, emotional dependence could be a disadvantage.

Melancholic temperament is formed by the element of Earth. The corresponding signs are: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. The advantages of these individuals are sense for practical life and persistence. The downside, however, is cumbersomeness and slow response. Therefore, these individuals need a strong and long-term stimulus to react.
